With this achievement, BTS surpassed the record previously held by singer Kim Gun Mo for the past 24 years with a total sales of 3,300,000 copies for the album 'Mis-Encounter'.

Quoted from detikHOT (26/6), the achievement has become even more remarkable considering that this record was achieved in just two months since the album 'Map of the Soul: Persona' was released in April 2019.

The album 'Map of the Soul: Persona' contains 7 songs, including collaboration of BTS and Halsey through the song 'Boy With Luv' as the main song that successfully topped a number of charts as soon as it was released.
