Rumor is based on the IU's photo in an old magazine that circulated again. In the photo there is a sentence which revealed that she had a plastic surgery.
IU's Agency, Loen Entertainment were grilled on the circulation of the photo. They claimed the interview context was about the make-up, not about a plastic surgery.
"The interview was about the make up is just as effective as a plastic surgery. But (the photo) out of context. IU had never a plastic surgery," said IU's agency quoted Soompi, Thursday (01/05/2012).
Unmitigated, IU's agency also intends to bring this case to the police. "Lee Ji Eun (IU's real name) had never a surgery. Look at her photo when she was a baby. Why are you still doing this? If you continue to spread this rumor, I'll sue you. I'm not kidding," warned Jo Young Cheol, Loen Entertainment producer.
